Regardless of the field, one of my strengths is editing for overall presentability.
I would be happy to "red pen" your work for you, prior to the deep breath you'd take before turning the paper in for a grade.
I will peruse it for errors in grammar, syntax, semantics, logic, punctuation, repetition, improper word usage, and style consistency.
I use a rather inclusive software analysis tool and then check it overall by sight. Since you may have specific intentions
that are not
immediately apparent to me, I do NOT change what you wrote.
Instead, I make suggestions in parentheses immediately after the point of concern,
which is then up to you to follow-up on.
I only edit papers for students with whom I have a history of tutoring.
Although I prefer the paper to be an e-mail attachment in MSWord or WordPerfect, I can accept your paper via fax but
it will returned as a scanned e-mail attachment.
I do not use OCR for paper editing because I then must reread the paper to be assured that
the OCR program did not "misread" one of the characters.
